The primary responsibility of an Appointment Clerk is to provide high-level member assistance by scheduling various appointments requested, transferring calls appropriately, composing messages, and providing general information.
What qualifications are required for this position?
The basic qualifications include one year of customer service experience in a service-related industry, preferably healthcare, and a high school diploma or equivalent. Current KP Coalition employees have the experience requirement waived.
Does this position require any specific skills?
Yes, effective telephone communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills are required. Additionally, the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, in English is necessary.
Is there a training process for new employees?
Yes, the Appointment Clerk is expected to train and orient new or less experienced personnel.
Are there any assessments that need to be completed for this role?
Yes, candidates must obtain a passing score on the Customer Care Simulation assessment, which must be current within one year. Non-KP employees must also take a Proofreading Assessment.
Will I be required to handle difficult interactions with members?
Yes, the role includes utilizing superior customer service skills to provide service to members, particularly in diffusing difficult member encounters.
Is this position full-time or part-time?
This is an on-call position, which means days and hours may vary.
What types of calls will I be handling?
You will handle inbound calls related to appointment scheduling, member inquiries, and may transfer calls to Registered Nurses when appropriate.
