Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the oversight of external projects for which Army Innovation is the sponsor.
  • Line Management of a dynamic and enthusiastic team.
  • To generate and empower competency and capacity of project staff through active leadership, coaching and mentoring.
  • Demonstrate the passion and ability to drive through the complexity of novel technologies and the ability to work in an environment of uncertainty and change.
  • Establish and develop productive relationships with stakeholders and inspire others through giving governance oversight to junior project managers.
  • Support a multitude of concurrent innovation activities; to enable effective delivery and optimise outcomes at pace, you will be an effective broker with enabling services (including Army Innovation Commercial support) and partners.
  • Lead assigned projects within the Army Innovation portfolio, including contract administration for activities delivered by suppliers.
  • Provide P3M expertise, support and mentoring to Army Innovation project staff, and externally to those providing project management of funded Innovation projects circa £2M per year.
  • Conduct horizon scanning and tech watch to keep Army Innovation ahead of curve, attending seminars and conferences, where appropriate.
  • Engage with industry and international partners, developing and maintaining relationships to further Army Innovation’s portfolio and improve our services.
  • Enable strategic engagement between Army Innovation and academia to develop the reach of the business unit.
