  • Graduate knowledge of research design and methodology, and application of this to research and development activity within the service area

  • Experience of working with a wide variety of client groups, across the whole life course and presenting with the full range of clinical severity across the full range of care settings
  • Experience of exercising full clinical responsibility for service users psychological care and treatment, both as a professionally qualified care-coordinator and within the context of a multidisciplinary care plan

  • A breadth of clinical practice including clinically specialising in the field where the post is held

  • This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.

Responsibilities

  • The post holder needs good organisational, communication and planning abilities in order to ensure that the pathways run smoothly and all clients receive timely support.
  • Applicants need to have experience in using psychometric assessments with people with learning disabilities, as they will play a role in completing direct assessments of learning disabilities and dementia.
  • Applicants will need to be equipped with a strong sense of responsibility and leadership as a psychology representative within the wider multidisciplinary team.
  • The post holder will be part of a friendly and supportive group of psychologists and psychotherapists, with opportunities for CPD in many different areas of specialism.
  • The post will provide the opportunity to contribute to service-based evaluation and audit, service development and teaching/training.
  • As a department, we are actively trying to develop our research activity.
