What qualifications are required for the Assistant Technical Officer position?
The successful candidate should have either 2 A levels, an NVQ level 4 in Customer Care, Healthcare Science, or Information Technology, or an equivalent qualification, along with 5 GCSEs.
Is experience with hearing aids and implantable devices necessary?
While not strictly necessary, experience in troubleshooting with hearing aids and implantable devices is desirable for this role.
What types of interactions can I expect in this role?
The post-holder will have daily interactions, either in person or via email, with adults and/or children with hearing difficulties and their family members or carers.
Who will I work closely with in this position?
You will work very closely with Audiologists, the Rehabilitation Team, and administrative staff on a daily basis.
What kind of support will I provide in this role?
The Postholder will provide non-routine equipment support and advice for patients, work independently in line with standard operating procedures, and offer high-level administrative support related to equipment and technical issues in the department.
What happens to the pay scale if I start before autumn 2024?
If your employment starts before the 24/25 pay scales are implemented, you will be paid under the 23/24 pay scales and any backpay will be adjusted accordingly.
