What qualifications are required for a Band 4 Pharmacy Technician?
A Band 4 Pharmacy Technician must be a registered pharmacy technician in the UK by GPhC or working towards qualifications suitable for registration. They should also be numerate and literate, with GCSEs in Maths and English A* to C or equivalent.
What experience is necessary for a Band 5 Pharmacy Technician?
A Band 5 Pharmacy Technician should have experience in accurately dispensing medicines, maintaining a continuous professional development portfolio, and dealing with customers or patients.
What kind of training will be provided?
Full technical training will be given in all relevant areas, including support for Band 4 technicians to complete set competencies to progress to Band 5.
Is experience in a hospital pharmacy desirable?
Yes, experience in a hospital pharmacy is considered desirable for both Band 4 and Band 5 candidates.
What are the core hours of the pharmacy service?
The core hours of the pharmacy service are Monday to Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM and Saturdays from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
Will I be required to work weekends or extended hours?
Yes, all staff are required to contribute to extended hours, weekends, on-call, and Bank Holidays.
