What age group will I be caring for as a Band 5 Staff Nurse in the PAU?
You will be providing nursing care and support to children and young people aged 0-15 years.
Is there an opportunity for professional development in this role?
Yes, we offer continuing professional development including training in Trauma Team Member, Burns care, PILS/APLS, Venepuncture, and cannulation, along with opportunities to progress to Band 6.
Will I have a mentor during my initial time in this position?
Yes, you will be allocated a mentor and supported by the practice educator during your supernumerary period upon commencing the post.
Is there a preceptorship program for newly qualified nurses?
Yes, we have a well-established preceptorship program that you will be part of, which will also help you qualify as a student Supervisor by the end of your first year.
What are the working hours for this position?
