Responsibilities

  • Understand and administer government regulations and plan provisions accordingly to ensure compliance on all benefit plans
  • In collaboration with other HR team members, define and execute against an escalation path for resolution of advanced benefits questions or problems
  • Ensure plans are compliant with local, state and federal regulations, including timely and accurate completion of all required government filings, and distribution of required participant plan disclosures
  • Oversee 401(k) non-discrimination testing, 5500 audits and filings, ACA filings, dependent care FSA non-discrimination testing
  • Establish and execute audits of all benefit plans to ensure compliance and support timely payments to vendors
  • Assist with benefits open enrollment set up, testing, communication and maintenance
  • Manage vendor relationships and assist with vendor selection and implementation projects
  • Identify opportunities for continual process improvement
  • Manage all aspects of absence management, to including partnering with disability/FMLA vendor on STD, LTD, FMLA, K12 Non-FMLA and state mandated leave programs. Effectively collaborates with HR team and payroll to ensure timely and accurate processing and payment of leave benefits
  • Administer K12’s Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) process, including collaboration with legal counsel and company leaders to implement reasonable accommodations
  • Administer K12’s retirement plan and state retirement plans, including processing electronic notifications from record keeper and trustee, Form 5500 audit and filings, annual non-discrimination testing preparation and execution, research and implementation of required state retirement plans, and reconciliation of administration errors to ensure compliance with plan and government regulations
  • Act as backup to Equity Plan Administration and can effectively process awards and vestings appropriately
  • Understand tuition assistance benefits under Section 127 and fringe benefits under Section 132 and administers the benefits appropriately
