Requirements

  • The one essential requirement is that you have an undergraduate degree (or are about to complete one). Our programme is designed to give you all the knowledge and experience you need. So, it doesn’t matter what your degree is in. We’re much more interested in the passion, drive and talent you’re able to bring to the team.

Responsibilities

  • There are lots of different paths you could potentially go down, whether you’re more interested in pursuing a career in branding or marketing, or in the strategy and commercial side of our business. Whichever route you choose, you’ll do four wide-ranging rotations, potentially exposing you to everything from Marketing and Project Management to Strategy and Corporate Affairs.
  • During the first year, you’ll learn our foundation principles about how we work and how different departments operate. Graduates will receive two 6-month rotations in our consumer group. Here you will experience one creative role within our marketing and insight teams, and one numerical based role in our commercial and trading disciplines.
  • In your second year, you’ll experience two further rotations. At this stage you get to decide your pathway by opting for roles that are the best fit for you and your career aspirations. All of them will present challenges and opportunities you won’t find anywhere else.
  • Departments may include but not limited to: Marketing, Marketing Strategy, Insight and Analytics, Propositions, Trading, Commercial, Women in Sport, Corporate Affairs and Commercial Content Strategy.
  • Whichever path you choose, you’ll hit the ground running and get stuck into complex and challenging projects. You could be developing mobile sales plans. Leading key pieces of consumer research. Creating a marketing campaign for a brand-new show. The opportunities are endless.
  • The best part? You’ll get to work alongside lots of great and talented people. Develop some amazing business skills. And help shape where our multibillion-pound business goes next.

Application Process

  • Step 1 – Submit your application.
  • We’ll be asking for your personal details, academic information and anything else that you think would be relevant such as work experience.
  • Once your application has been submitted, you’ll be invited to complete our immersive digital assessments. This may land in your junk folder so don’t forget to check it.
  • Step 2 – Complete our two online digital assessments.
  • These look at your Sky fit and your business fit. Why not pop onto our dedicated Prep hub to familiarise yourself with some of these digital assessments before completing them.
  • You’ll also have the opportunity to practice each of these assessments beforehand, so please read our email instructions carefully. We’ve added some tips to help you along the way.
  • Step 3 – Attend our virtual assessment centre
  • For the final stage of your application, we’ll invite you to our virtual assessment centre and give you some tasks to get to know you better. The day will give you a practical insight into what it’s like to work in Business Strategy and will assess your aptitude for this programme.
  • Once you’ve completed your assessment day, we’ll let you know when you can expect to hear back from us.

Mission & Purpose

With 24 million customers across six countries, Sky is Europe’s leading media and entertainment company and is proud to be part of the Comcast group. Our 32,000 employees help connect our customers to the very best entertainment, sports, news, arts and to our own local, original content. Following the success of Sky originals like Chernobyl, we plan to double our investment in original content by 2024. We’re also developing a new TV and movie studio, Sky Studios Elstree, which is expected to lead to the creation of over 2,000 new jobs and generate an additional £3 billion of production investment in UK creative sector in the first five years alone. Our technology allows Sky customers to watch what they want, when they want, how they want and connects millions of people to content they love. And our online streaming service, NOW, brings viewers all the enjoyment of Sky with the flexibility of a contract-free service. We also believe that a company of our scale has a responsibility that goes beyond our business, and into the community. We recently announced a series of commitments to help tackle racial injustice and improve diversity and inclusion. To ensure the commitments are delivered, Sky will invest £10million per year across its markets for each of the next three years. We’re committed to being Europe’s first net zero carbon entertainment company by 2030 – two decades before we have to – and we’re an inclusive employer recognised by The Times and Stonewall for our commitment to diversity.
