Requirements

  • A proven track record of managing EL/PL personal injury claims, with a demonstrable understanding of the law relating to negligence and health and safety;
  • Experience of managing sports claims is desirable;
  • A genuine interest in sport and sports related claims;
  • In depth knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules;
  • Experience in undertaking disclosure exercises and document reviews;
  • Experience in drafting documents including witness statements, instructions and reports;
  • Ability to analyse information;
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail;
  • Excellent interpersonal and team working skills;
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Working in a dedicated Sports Team, you will your be responsible, under appropriate supervision, for the day to day management of your own varied caseload.
  • You will also assist Partners and Principal Associates in the defence of a wide range of claims, often high value and high profile, on behalf of sports’ governing bodies, competitors, sports clubs, and their insurers.
  • Tasks will include assisting with significant disclosure and document reviews including e-Discovery, preparing witness statements, undertaking legal and factual research, drafting instructions to Counsel and experts, preparing reports to clients, preparing for and attending court hearings, attending client meetings and responding promptly and accurately to correspondence and telephone enquiries from clients and other parties.
