Responsibilities

  • Define and implement a comprehensive annual category strategy that encompasses key commercial dimensions to drive business growth. This includes developing local campaign and promotional plans.
  • Working closely with the Country Head, ensure the category strategy aligns seamlessly with the broader country or cluster plan for the year, incorporating Business Unit processes, LE forecasting, OBF strategy, and promotional planning.
  • Collaboration with central teams and departments such as Visual Merchandising (VM), Marketing, Pricing, and CRM will be essential to shape strategies and actions informed by local market insights.
  • A deep understanding of category dynamics—customers, market trends, and competitors—will enable you to identify growth opportunities and address potential challenges.
  • Continuously analyze key business KPIs across sales, category, customer, and product dimensions, taking corrective actions as needed to optimize performance.
  • Recommend adjustments and exceptions of local prices on brand/product level, from defined global pricing strategy. Special focus on OBF, by defining the right sources of business.
  • Create a full-year promo plan accounting for category dynamics and relevancy, and align local actions with central promotions team (complementary to global central campaign calendar) and Country / Cluster Head.
  • Actively monitor campaign / promo performance and track budget spend vs. local plan.
  • Run topical/brand/product promotions on short notice depending on business need.
  • Contribute to the business strategy and requirements to the Product team, for product sorting in PLP and search results, in coordination with the rest of Category Managers (through SME).
  • Contribute to the business strategy and requirements to the Product team, for Up-selling and Cross-selling through the product recommendation boxes, in coordination with the rest of the Category Managers (through SME).
  • Special focus on OBF visibility.
  • Collaboration with Graphics and Shop OPS teams for category-related banners.
  • Provide inputs for a continuous QA process to Shop Operations and signs-off (if needed) any adjustment in the category content.
