  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Engineer (2-5 years), preferably in the renewable energy & offshore sector.
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical codes, standards.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems design, analysis, and testing.
  • Excellent communication and team collaboration abilities.

  • Proficiency in CAD software and other engineering tools.

Responsibilities

  • Working within the Offshore Substation Team to develop and design AC Offshore substations.
  • Contributing to the AC platform mechanical design, including HVAC, Fire detection & Suppression, Mechanical handling, Offshore Cranes and drainage control systems.
  • Contributing to the AC platform Technical Safety design, including Fire and Explosion and Escape Evacuation Assessments.
  • Working across a broad spectrum of projects across all phases, including tender, feed and EPCI.
  • Working specifically within the Mechanical and Technical Safety team to develop:
  • Technical specifications
  • Design documents and reports
  • Collaborating with sub suppliers and partners to review documentation and ensure compliance with specifications and the overall design concept.
  • Acting as technical interface between sub suppliers and client on mechanical and safety items.
  • Collaborating with other members of the team and the wider Engineering fields on specific engineering topics and solutions, including business improvement initiatives and R&D.
  • Exposure to other fields providing a comprehensive understanding of the engineering process on offshore substations.
  • Analyse of customer requirements and scope of work documents highlighting key deviations to design solutions.
  • Programme and planning: Contributing to project planning, ensuring smooth delivery at EPCI phase.
  • Responding to customer comments and technical queries
  • Opportunity to work in DC Offshore substations if needed.
  • Visits to site when required to remedy solutions, inspect engineering solutions and contribute in lessons learned reviews.
