Requirements

  • BA/BS in related field with 10-15 years of HR Leadership and/or HRBP experience.
  • Experience in a national business with multi-state responsibility for compliance of labor laws; California experience required due to complex and evolving labor laws.
  • Department of Transportation (DOT) experience strongly preferred.
  • Knowledgeable about how the business and organization work; knowledgeable in current and possible future policies, practices, trends, and information affecting the business and organization; understands the competition; is aware of how tactics work in the marketplace.
  • Excellent influencing skills, challenge status quo, utilizes independent judgment.
  • Strong business and financial acumen, understands and supports the business strategy.
  • Ability to develop strong trusting relationships to gain support and achieve results.
  • Be flexible and available to interact with employees at all levels.
  • Exceptional analytical, critical-thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Fluency in financial and HR systems as well as attention to detail and a passion for making the complex simple are key attributes.
  • Understands how to accomplish tasks both through formal channels and the informal network; understands the origin and reasoning behind key policies; practices and procedures; understand the cultures of the organization.
  • Experience working in a multi-site / multi-country environment (Canada, Mexico, China).
  • Working knowledge of local employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic, and constantly changing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic HR Director with deep industry knowledge.
  • Provides coaching and guidance to all levels of management and can effectively relate to all levels of employees - hourly/seasonal, technical experts, line managers and executives.
  • Execute talent objectives that drive exceptional business performance.
  • Coach leaders to own differentiating talent performance and potential, and reward and recognize appropriately.
  • Enable business leaders to work through talent management processes such as performance management, compensation, employee engagement, succession management and organizational design and development to deliver exceptional business performance.
  • Take a data driven approach to monitoring health and effectiveness of the business through retention analyses, workforce planning, compensation forecasting and budgeting and benchmarking to drive effective talent strategies and solutions.
  • Support leaders of people as they execute talent and engagement strategies.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with your HR peers and teams to maximize impact of TRC's HR capabilities.
  • Travel less than 10%.
