  • The Director of Human Resources must have demonstrated strategic human resources management.

Responsibilities

  • Strategically plan, develop, implement, direct, and evaluate the Department’s human resources functions and performance for the Department as well as individual Divisions.
  • Direct Department management on human resources issues impacting the Department, operating from a continuous process improvement mindset.
  • Provide strategic input and leadership from the Human Resource perspective on issues affecting the Department.
  • Leads the management and development of HR programs, practices, and policies.
  • Oversees and/or develops strategic HR training programs for management and employees.
  • Maintains knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation.
  • Works closely with management on performance, organizational, and leadership matters.
  • Evaluates and recommends improvements for the organization’s HR programs, procedures, and practices.
  • Maintains responsibility for organizational compliance with federal and state legislation pertaining to all personnel matters.
  • Communicates changes in organizational personnel policies and procedures and ensures proper compliance is followed.
  • Provides knowledge in strategy development and execution, planning, and facilitation of employee relations.
  • Act as an advisor for highly complex cases where additional considerations need to be made and to provide those recommendations that mitigate risk.
  • Maintains and coordinates employee recognition programs.
