Requirements

  • Desired or preferred experience and technical skills:
  • A skilled town planner and proven track record.
  • Commercially minded and understanding of market conditions.
  • Skilled in business development to grow revenue and promote the team.
  • Technical experience in major mixed use, commercial/employment and residential development.
  • Build, lead and manage a North East/Leeds Planning Team.
  • Motivate, lead and drive individuals and team.
  • Natural communicator, working closely across different JLL business lines.
  • Required Skills and Experience:
  • Qualified town planner with associated credentials- MRTPI
  • Nurture talent, manage succession planning and build a high performing team.
  • Develop an existing reputation and client base within the Yorkshire/NE region.
  • Works on complex projects, unpicking challenging constraints, phasing etc.
  • Experienced in analysing/challenging evidence eg housing supply numbers/employment land supply
  • Negotiates s106/affordable housing including city/town centre development.
  • Experience as an Expert Witness
  • Presents ideas, strategies, and opinions integral to growing the UK Planning business
  • A naturally engaging, influential individual and good communicator
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Fee and team management skills
  • Actively adopts Diversity, Equity and Inclusivity principles and actions

Responsibilities

  • Managing and creating a new Yorkshire Planning Team
  • Creating a strong planning business, building relationships internally within JLL eg residential, development and industrial land teams to grow opportunities;
  • Working closely with new and existing internal and external clients to deliver opportunities and revenue growth
  • Bringing support and inspiration to the new Planning Team.
  • Being part of the UK Planning Team
