What qualifications do I need to apply for the Early Careers Pharmacist position?
You need to be a newly qualified pharmacist or have experience outside of secondary care.
Is previous hospital experience necessary for this role?
No, previous hospital experience is not essential; we welcome applications from pharmacists working in other sectors.
What kind of clinical experience will I gain in this role?
You will gain clinical experience in areas such as acute medicine, general medicine, respiratory, older people's medicine, coronary care, paediatrics, intensive care, and surgery.
Will I receive training and support during my employment?
Yes, you will receive an induction to the department, e-learning opportunities, and support from experienced Clinical Pharmacists in developing your knowledge and skills.
Can I pursue further qualifications while working in this role?
Yes, there will be an opportunity to complete the University of Bradford Clinical Diploma starting in January 2025, subject to HEE funding.
What are the working hours and is there a rota?
You will take part in our weekend and bank holiday rota as part of the role.
What digital tools and systems are used in the hospital?
CHFT uses Cerner Millennium Electronic Patient Record for electronic prescribing and administration, and has a pharmacy dispensing robot at the Calderdale site.
