  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written
  • Experience designing with COTS devices
  • General knowledge of Linux and Solaris operating systems

Responsibilities

  • Work on a small team of hardware development engineers in support of Engineering Change Proposals
  • Assist in identifying potential replacement COTS (commercial off the shelf) candidates, conducting a trade study with potential devices, and choosing the device that best meets the requirements
  • Work together to perform preliminary and detailed design activities
  • Conduct testing activities in the lab in support of Engineering Change Proposals. Testing includes device-level bench testing as well as integration testing in the system as a whole
  • Interface with other disciplines (Configuration Management, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, Supply Chain) in support of product development
