What is the role of the Emergency Team Assistant / Healthcare Assistant?
The role involves supporting the nursing team in delivering high-quality, evidence-based care to patients in the Same Day Emergency Care units under the indirect supervision and delegation of a Registered Nurse.
What are the working hours for this position?
The working hours consist of a mixture of long days from 08:00 to 20:30 and long day B shifts from 09:30 to 22:00, including weekends, but no night shifts.
Is experience in emergency care required for this position?
While experience in emergency care may be beneficial, the most important qualities are a passion for providing high-quality care and strong communication skills.
How many patients does the Same Day Emergency Care unit see on average each day?
The unit sees approximately 60-70 patients each day at both Charing Cross and St Mary's Hospital.
Will I have the opportunity to work with a multi-disciplinary team?
Yes, you will work closely with a multi-disciplinary team, including patients and their families.
