Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
  • Course work related to transportation engineering
  • Previous design intern experience
  • Strong analytical, conceptual, communication and organizational skills
  • Willingness to work in a team environment to develop engineering drawings and documents
  • Ideally, you’ll also have:
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) or ability to obtain within 6 months
  • Knowledge of and experience using CADD/Design software (AutoCAD/Civil 3D)
  • Ability to utilize design manuals, as needed
  • Self-driven time management and organizational skills
  • Submitted a cover letter with your resume

Responsibilities

  • Offer design support on transportation projects
  • Connect with recent college graduates and our company leaders through mentoring and early career professional programs • Perform assignments under the direct supervision of a professional or Project Manager
  • The work may include freeway, highway and roadway design, signing and pavement marking plans, utility plans, traffic control plans, technical writing, quantity calculations, construction documents, and all supporting documentation
  • Attend and contribute to project and team meetings
  • Complete design and preparation of plans in AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Prepare design reports, plans, specifications, construction schedules, and engineers estimate
  • Perform other duties as needed
