Requirements

  • Required Education, Experience, & Skills:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Chemical Engineering or closely related field and 2 years relevant experience or Master's Degree in closely related field.
  • Demonstrated educational background or experience in fluid / thermal engineering science.
  • Working familiarity with standard engineering tools such as programming languages (C++, Python) and analysis systems (Matlab).
  • Ability to solve problems with incomplete input.
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communications skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively and respectfully work with others.
  • Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills:
  • Master’s Degree or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Chemical Engineering.
  • Familiarity with Ansys tools.
  • Experience with laboratory testing and instrumentation.
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams.
  • Current Secret Clearance preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Working with senior analyst and program engineers to determine program analysis needs and determining the appropriate analysis tools for meeting the needs.
  • Driving the analysis throughout the entire process, from choosing the appropriate tools and collecting the necessary inputs to performing the simulation on internal computing assets and other computations as needed.
  • Working with our internal materials group to gather or measure the needed material properties.
  • Interfacing with analysts at various government sites to discuss and share analysis results.
  • Providing detailed results and recommendations to the senior analyst and program engineers.
  • Preparing detailed reports of the analysis process for future use of the analysis group.
