  • Our food products are world-famous and high-quality, so a genuine interest in business and love for food is important to driving success.
  • You don’t need to have a specific degree but if you choose to specialise in Commercial, you’ll need an analytical mind and be comfortable interpreting data. If Product is where your passion lies, you’ll need an eye for detail and an enthusiasm for innovation and creative thinking.
  • For both specialisms, you’ll need an appetite for doing things differently. Everything we create, we create for customers, so we look for people who are obsessed with delighting them with better ways of working. Above all, you’ll need to love collaborating with colleagues to solve challenges and develop new solutions.
  • Candidates must have the right to work in the UK for the full duration of their preferred programme.

Responsibilities

  • First, you’ll choose whether you would like to specialise in Commercial or Product. Then you’ll hit the ground running with a 4-month placement at one of our stores, where you’ll discover what it takes for our food products to reach our customers’ baskets.
  • After your time in store, you’ll move on to a 9-month placement in your chosen specialism. In Product, you’ll learn how to spearhead pioneering products from concept to shelf and how to create the displays that wow our customers in store. In Commercial, you’ll learn how to get the right products to the right place at the right time, analysing customer data to forecast and buy product ranges for our Foodhalls.
  • In your second year, you’ll take on two 3-month placements in Supply Chain & Logistics and Online Operations, before finishing with a 4-month placement in one of the broader teams that support our Food business. In Product, that means you could get a taste of forecasting, ordering or allocation, and in Commercial, you could learn more about product development or marketing.
