Responsibilities

  • 1. Strategic opportunities for collaboration and joint initiatives between gFSC and GNC are identified, agreed to, and initiated, in collaboration with the WASH and Health Clusters as relevant.
  • 2. Explore and document key areas where food security and nutrition sectors can be leveraged more strongly for the prevention of famine and acute malnutrition and what actions can be taken to progress on these at country level. Focus would be on how to jointly prioritize, target and delivery an appropriate package of services in line with the joint strategic approach.
  • 3. Three countries identified to explore how to maximise integrated programming with specific focus on food security and nutrition, to avert hunger and acute malnutrition. Country visit to identify (and document) bottlenecks and key enablers to achieving appropriate joint targeting and delivery of the joint strategic approach.
  • 4. Lessons learned are documented, and guidance developed based on the finding from country visits; this would include: consultation of key stakeholders for feedback on the draft guidance, facilitate session with global nutrition and food security cluster partners to validate the revised guidance, sensitization of cluster coordination teams in select countries as well as at global level on the validated guidance.
  • 5. Initiate and hold quarterly field-focused collaborative meetings with the GNC and other Geneva based clusters and bring potentially country clusters together (virtually) around identified areas.
