Requirements

  • - Qualified to Degree level in a mechanical engineering subject, alternatively equivalent experience will be considered.
  • - Minimum 2 years post-graduate experience in mechanical design, preferably but not limited to rotating machinery, complemented by a thorough understanding of mechanical theory.
  • - Demonstrable work experience gained as a Mechanical Engineer with solid knowledge of machinery design and manufacture processes.
  • - Able to write technical project briefs and work alongside project managers to deliver project objectives.
  • - Experience of working with component and process suppliers would be advantageous.
  • - Able to interpret statistical data e.g. component inspection reports.
  • - Current 3D CAD ability is required, ideally NX, plus recent experience working in a Teamcentre/PLM environment would be beneficial.
  • - Interpersonal skills are essential in our multidisciplined and multicultural team.

Responsibilities

  • - Concept and detail design of Gas Turbine components and assemblies which meet overall product requirements, optimizing your own work through hand calculations.
  • - Root cause analysis, weighted decision analysis, design of experiments.
  • - Specifying component and engine test requirements.
  • - Presenting your work by written report and verbally to groups.
  • - Producing and maintaining method documents.
  • - Monitoring and reporting achievements against technical and schedule objectives.
