Description

  • We require a Geo-Environmental Engineer to undertake aspects of Geo-Environmental Investigations mainly comprising Phase 1 and 2 investigations typically in line with Pre-Planning services and requirements. In this role, you will cover a wide range of disciplines in property and construction and be responsible for providing a wide range of civil engineering services under the direction of the Discipline Partner. 
  • The Geo-Environmental Engineering team provide a comprehensive range of services to assist in the pre-planning and engineering design processes, that support clients through the whole project life cycle.
  • The team has particular expertise in contamination but also cover Geotechnical Engineering, remediation, piling, soakage testing, and earthworks largely for brownfield sites.
  • The position is based within the Geo-Environmental Consultancy Department.

Requirements

  • Relevant degree in Geology, Environmental Science - postgraduate degree desirable
  • Experience working for a UK multi-discipline consultancy
  • Excellent communication and report writing skills
  • Membership of a professional organisation such as the Geological Society or CIWEM, ideally working towards Chartered Status
  • Experience of quantitative human health, groundwater and ground-gas risk assessments
  • Willingness to research and keep up to date with current contamination topics & legislation Liaison with Clients and Regulators including Local Authorities and the Environment Agency
  • Ideally knowledge of asbestos regulations and associated testing and risk assessment
  • Production of Remediation Method Statements, supervision of remediation works and production of Validation Reports
  • Geotechnical knowledge, logging soils and rocks etc.
  • Full driving licence
