Responsibilities

  • A commercial manager is responsible for driving business growth and profitability by developing and implementing effective commercial strategies. They engage in all commercial activities, including sales, marketing, business development, customer and supplier relations. The specific job duties and responsibilities may vary depending, but generally include:
  • Developing and executing commercial strategies to achieve business objectives and targets.
  • Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities and markets.

  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with key clients, suppliers, and stakeholders.
  • Developing pricing strategies and ensuring pricing competitiveness.

  • Supporting the management of strategic and key operational suppliers in accordance with the agreed company process. This role is fundamental in maintaining accreditation to ISO 2000 and ISO 9001.
  • Supporting delivery of key contractual commitments and deliverables.
  • Attending, helping manage and maintain records of commercial review meetings.
  • Engaging on Service Improvement Plans where necessary.
  • Help develop and maintain close working relationships with key stakeholders, customer services, legal and finance teams.
  • Advise and assist business users on Supplier Management matters and assist with commercial issues raised within the business.
  • Identify efficiencies and opportunities to implement cost saving initiatives.
  • Risk management assessment and contingency planning.
  • Provide a key contact for customer and supplier issues.
  • Help ensure costs comply with contract rates this includes validating charges, service credits and working with the finance manager to track costs against budgets.
  • Support and maintain where required the management process documentation i.e. scorecards, service improvement reports, risk reporting.
  • Supporting the Supplier Performance & Process Manager in Supply Chain processes.
