Requirements

  • Experience using Microsoft SQL Server and SQL Management Studio
  • Experience in managing and updating SQL Database structures.
  • Solid understanding of SQL Server principles and best practices
  • A good understanding of other SQL and database related technology e.g. Integration Services, Analysis Services
  • Expertise in database design, deployment, and administration
  • Desirable:
  • Business awareness and understanding of business requirements of IT
  • Experience using Visual Studio for database build, development and ETL processes.
  • Personnel Specification:
  • Experience of data governance, data stewardship and data quality.
  • Ability to make recommendations to a business on data ownership and data quality management tasks.
  • Ability to create and maintain strong working relationships with colleagues.
  • Flexible and adaptable.
  • Able to identify risks and define plans to control or remediate these risks.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical abilities.
  • Sound understanding and experience of Data Lifecycle Management.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build and maintain databases.
  • Review database performance, integrity, and security.
  • Make and implement recommendations for database improvements.
  • Troubleshooting issues for users.
  • Build and maintain data integrations from internal and external sources.
  • Understand and keep up to date with developments in new technology and tools.
  • Creating and maintaining database and data pipeline documentation.
  • Identify opportunities to expand Dale Farm’s data universe.
  • Support the development of a single source of truth for Dale Farm data.
