Requirements

  • University degree (minimum an equivalent to a Bachelor), preferably in a relevant field such as Economics, Finance, Data Science, Business Analytics, Mathematics, or IT
  • Up to 2 years of experience (excluding internships of less than 9 months) since your most recent graduation, preferably in data management, financial analysis, or IT systems
  • Very good knowledge of MS Office tools in particular Excel and PowerPoint. Experience of SQL, Python, data visualisation tools (e.g., Denodo, Power BI, SAP BusinessObjects), and data aggregation methodologies would be a strong asset
  • Basic understanding of financial instruments would be an advantage
  • Excellent knowledge of English and/or French (*) with a good command of the other.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the collection and reconciliation of financial data from multiple sources. Perform the End of Month (EOM) exposure data reconciliation across relevant systems (regular and continuous monitoring of data quality). Continuously adjust the data quality controls based on newly identified issues as well as new product/mandate/system developments etc
  • Support data quality assurance activities and ensure compliance with internal data governance standards. Support the establishment of rules and procedures for exposure data management, including data access, data quality controls, and audit change log
  • Assist in the enhancement of data management processes and tools used within the Division
  • Support data reconciliation efforts and investigate data discrepancies to ensure accuracy
  • Contribute to the documentation and improvement of data management procedures and workflows
  • Provide support to other EIB business areas to pick the right exposure data set for their respective needs by providing explanations on how respective exposure data sets are calculated on how exposure should be displayed in front office systems (e.g. Serapis)
  • Acquire in-depth knowledge of the Bank’s lending portfolios and products (including some specific products such as quasi-equities, full/partial delegation linked/de-linked risk sharing, indexed linked loans, loans with capitalisation parameters etc)
  • Contribute to the analysis of business requirements for the development and maintenance of the ongoing data management activity (HADES)
  • Support testing activities related to system enhancements, new developments, and maintenance. Perform User Acceptance Tests (regression testing) from Business side in relation to the data management project (HADES) to ensure that data collection works as expected. Manage rules for storing the exposure data, e.g. access controls, procedures for archiving (data backup, versioning, retention etc.)
  • Assist in user training and documentation to facilitate system adoption and efficient use of reporting tools
  • Identify and contribute to the resolution of exceptions/Data Quality issues. Monitor system performance and report issues to IT teams for resolution
  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of data reports and dashboards for internal stakeholders
  • Support the automation of reporting processes to enhance efficiency
  • Encourage information and knowledge sharing and promote data quality within the Bank.
