Requirements

  • Organised and prepared to work and study during the 3 years
  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail and ability to manage multiple stakeholders
  • Assertive, knowledgeable and adaptable with an interest and curiosity to make a difference
  • Good communication skills both written and oral
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Minimum 2:1 degree
  • 3 A Levels at C or above and must include 1 of the following: Maths, English or a Science
  • GCSE Maths and English

Responsibilities

  • Gain experience across many aspects of accounting, including transactional posting, assisting the production of monthly management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations and statutory annual financial statements, and providing variance analysis on the Bank’s performance;
  • Assist and support the production of regulatory reporting to the Bank of England and other relevant bodies;
  • Prepare presentations and other communication materials for press releases and presentations to analysts and the FirstRand IR function (Power Point slides, credit risk and margin analysis);
  • Support the delivery of the monthly forecasting process (cashflow and monthly rolling forecasts);
  • Develop relationships and build a strong network of people across Finance and the wider Group;
  • Communicate in a professional manner with various stakeholders across the bank;
  • Support the delivery of new financial processes;
  • Take the initiative for process improvements and process reviews and their implementation;
