Responsibilities

  • The post holder will work collaboratively with our partner agencies and contribute to Stockport Adult and Children Safeguarding Boards and Partnerships.
  • Working with the Named Leads for Safeguarding Adults & Children, Midwifery and Looked after Children, the post holder will use excellent leadership skills to ensure that the safeguarding agenda is delivered consistently across the Trust.
  • The Head of Safeguarding will provide assurance to the Trust Integrated Safeguarding Group and the Board that services are being provided safely and effectively across the wider organisation, as described in the NHS England Safeguarding Accountability and Assurance Framework.
  • Through strategic leadership across both teams, the post holder will ensure that the highest standards of effective safeguarding for children and adults at risk is delivered across Stockport NHS FT in line with national, regional and local guidance and legislative requirements.
  • The role will be pivotal in ensuring that the practices of all safeguarding teams ensure a safe, equitable service for all our patients, and will lead on the transitional pathway for vulnerable children to migrate to adult services.
