What qualifications are required for the Head of Safeguarding position?

What responsibilities does the Head of Safeguarding have?
The Head of Safeguarding is responsible for the strategic and operational management of the Trust-wide Safeguarding Team, ensuring the delivery of safeguarding responsibilities, providing leadership, advising the Trust's Executive Lead and Board, and coordinating multi-agency working for safeguarding practice.
Is there a probationary period for new hires?
Yes, all substantive roles, excluding medical staff, are subject to a 6-month probationary period.
How does the Trust ensure safeguarding governance is maintained?
The post holder will influence and lead safeguarding governance within the Trust, ensuring arrangements meet statutory requirements and focus on quality improvement, including audits and incorporating feedback from service users.
