Responsibilities

  • Be professional and legally responsible and accountable for all aspects of your own work including the management of patients in your care. Ensure a consistently high level of clinical care for the patients under your management and support your peers to do likewise.
  • Provide an equal and equitable service for all patients, including the harder to reach population groups.
  • Undertake a comprehensive assessment of patients, using investigative and analytical skills.
  • Be aware of your professional limitations, seeking support as necessary through supervision, discussion with peers/more senior colleagues and team case discussions.
  • Use a variety of assessment and treatment techniques appropriate to the patient, in accordance with evidence based practice, national guidelines and trust and departmental policy (including manual handling and confidentiality).
  • Demonstrate compassion, empathy and sensitivity whilst providing an appropriate level of care for patients with acute and chronic, complex presentations (which may include victims of torture, mental health patients, etc.)
