Responsibilities

  • Serving as a collaborative HR Partner to our Transportation Business Unit, you will coordinate alignment of business objectives with employees, other HRBP’s, and management in the designated business unit.
  • Consults with management on human resource-related issues, suggests new HR strategies, and provides HR policy guidance and interpretation when appropriate.
  • Evaluates and anticipates HR-related needs and communicates needs with the HR Department and business management.
  • Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with the HR group to develop solutions, programs, and policies.
  • Works as a key contributor to the firm-wide HR function to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflects the business objectives of the organization.
  • Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues, addresses grievances, and conducts effective, thorough, and objective investigations to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  • Maintains comprehensive knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees in order to reduce legal risks and ensure regulatory compliance; partners with internal legal counsel when necessary.
  • Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to line management, including coaching, counseling, career development, and disciplinary actions.
  • Provides support for orienting new hires, and internal promotions and transfers.
  • Provides guidance and input on business unit restructures, and monitors and reports on workforce planning and succession planning.
  • Identifies training needs for business units and individuals, participates in evaluation and monitoring of training programs to ensure success and follows up to ensure training objectives are met.
  • Collaborates with other HRBPs and HR team members to create and maintain a fun and supportive work environment.
