Requirements

  • The post holder will hold a SVQ3 certificate or equivalent experience in an IT related subject or experience in an IT equipment/inventory support role within an Information Technology Department.

  • The post requires an individual who can demonstrate a reasonable level of technical knowledge in the following areas;
  • Basic knowledge Windows Operating systems
  • Microsoft Office
  • Working knowledge of an existing IT asset management system.
  • Working knowledge of Data Protection and other IT security legislation related to NHS Scotland
  • Broad hands-on knowledge of PC building/dismantling.

  • Previous experience within warehouses and the using of stock and systems software

Responsibilities

  • The IT Store Officer role is to assist the Infrastructure Operations Manager (Customer Services) in ensuring the efficient and accurate recording of both new and old IT kit and the secure storage and disposal of the in-house computer systems, servers, and media.
  • This includes following the documented disposal processes. This person will also report security breaches and vulnerability issues in a timely and accurate fashion, and conduct stored hardware inventory management where required.
