What is the primary responsibility of the Lead Testing & Commissioning Engineer?
The Lead Testing & Commissioning Engineer is responsible for planning, coordinating, performing, and documenting all commissioning activities of utility substation protection, control, and power circuits in accordance with TRC's and Client's requirements.
What qualifications are required for this position?
A Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Electrical or Power Systems preferred) from an accredited school or university, along with 5+ years related experience in testing and commissioning services, is required.
Is Electric Utility experience necessary?
While Electric Utility experience is preferred, candidates with experience in commissioning complex commercial or industrial equipment, including protective relays or other Power Systems Field Engineers, will also be considered.
Will training be provided for candidates with limited experience?
Yes, TRC provides extensive in-house training to ensure that all staff can efficiently start projects and adhere to specific standards and specifications.
What specific knowledge should applicants have?
Applicants should have strong knowledge of electrical protection systems, the ability to read and understand schematic diagrams, and a basic understanding of medium and high voltage substation and power plant equipment.
Is travel required for this position?
