Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Participates in strategic planning to anticipate current and future professional development workforce and retention solutions.
  • Partner with operational managers to identify, develop, and implement educational programs to enhance the clinical/non clinical competence of Orlando Health team members.
  • Oversight of the inter-professional continuing education processes and programs for nurses, allied health, and physicians.
  • Collaboration with relevant departments and academic institutions for oversight of transition to practice programs contributing to ongoing professional role development.
  • Collaborate with hospital site education leadership to develop and implement education programs based on corporate quality and process improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinates ongoing development and implementation of simulation learning to support maintenance of the simulation program accreditation.
  • Develops, plans, and evaluates processes for corporate orientation and onboarding.
  • Evaluates and coordinates a variety of educational products and services within Orlando Health.
  • Influences the development of educational strategies that support the mission, vision and values of the organization.
  • Assesses, plans, organizes and directs department activities.
  • Establishes and implements department policies/procedures and guidelines.
  • Develops and manages department budget in conjunction with Director.
  • Promotes a satisfied, healthy work environment for the workforce by establishing a climate of growth, challenge and development of team members.
  • Integrates education technology using appropriate adult learning theories and project management principles.
  • Evaluates department performance and utilizes change management principles as needed to implement process and quality improvement.
  • Models effective critical thinking skills.
  • Manages various human resources functions including hiring, work assignments, coaching plans, and performance counseling.
  • Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
  • Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of legal issues, patient rights, and compliance with the standards of regulatory and accrediting agencies.
  • Mentors the professional development of team members.
  • Maintains contacts with other organizations and associations for the purpose of keeping current in new developments in the education field.
