Responsibilities

  • Responsible for standard contracts with some derogations and precedents to include: contract reviews, contract negotiation, dispute management, legal and compliance risk management
  • Acts autonomously in analysing and solving problems within established working procedures
  • Build and maintain relationships with managers and employees to ensure that the UK Legal team remains responsive to business needs and expectations
  • Under the supervision of the Managing Counsel, engage and with panel law firms to deal with specific legal issues as required
  • Carry out contract reviews, including negotiation and drafting of contract terms and conditions in accordance with UK policies and procedures and provide pragmatic advice in a timely and appropriate matter, in relation to all aspects of Group Corporate, Commercial and Procurement activity including IT, Corporate, Direct construction materials, ATS/Plant & Fleet, FM & Utilities procurement categories
  • Review of supplier agreements, tender and bids, framework agreements, volume related discount agreements, confidentiality agreements and other documentation
  • Assisting with regulatory and compliance matters such as privacy and data protection, modern slavery and anti-bribery and fraud
  • Provide legal support in relation to all forms of dispute management and resolution
  • Deliver discrete legal training for Legal team and other stakeholders
  • Stays up to date with new and changing legislation
  • Maintains own continuing competence
  • Ensures personal compliance with all Regulations and Company Policies
  • Supports delivery of the Ethics & Compliance agenda by the Ethics & Compliance team
  • Ensures relentless personal focus on Zero Harm
