  • - An opportunity has arisen in our Legal Services and Claims Department.
  • - We are looking for an experienced and an enthusiastic individual to join our friendly, welcoming and dynamic Team.
  • - You will be a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual with a flexible approach as well as being able to work on their own initiative; will be able to work under pressure as well as part of a team.
  • - You must ensure that personal information for Claimants, members of staff and other individuals is accurate, secure and confidential at all times in compliance with Data Protection Act/General Data Protection Regulations 2018 and the Common Law Duty of Confidentiality.
  • - To triage all incoming mail by email or in the post and prioritise the work in consultation with Line Manager.
  • - To manage the Legal Services email inbox and respond to queries or alternatively, triaging to another member of the Legal Services Team for a timely response.
  • - To assist in the disclosure of medical records and associated materials for litigation purposes to Panel Solicitors/NHS Resolution.
  • - To provide an effective administrative service to clinical negligence and personal injury claims.
  • - To liaise with Panel solicitors/NHS Resolution and appraise Head of Legal Services and Claims Officer.
  • - Identify problems and bring them to the attention of your line manager.
  • - Post holder must have a standard level of keyboard skills and able to use Microsoft Office programmes.

Responsibilities

  • To provide effective, confidential and high-quality Administrative Support to the Legal Services Team in dealing and processing clinical negligence and personal injury cases.
  • You will ensure effective recording and management of sound and accurate data on the Claims Module within the Datix system.
  • You will carry out quality checks of claims Datix records and update such records where necessary and they will assist the Legal Services Team in the production of reports and claim data requests.
  • You will administer the destruction and retention of claims records and deliver effective, confidential, and high-quality administrative service to support the Legal Services Team.
  • You must ensure that personal information for Claimants, members of staff and other individuals is accurate, secure and confidential at all times in compliance with Data Protection Act/General Data Protection Regulations 2018 and the Common Law Duty of Confidentiality.

  • Develop and maintain effective electronic and paper filing systems, to ensure that information is kept securely and is accessible to the team as required.
  • Arrange and coordinate meetings with clinicians and external panel solicitors.
  • Assist with preparation of reports and training presentation.
