Responsibilities

  • OUTBOUND CAPACITY MANAGEMENT
  • Own and manage outbound logistics to ensure: Daily capacity updates, ensuring full utilisation of despatch capability and managing deviations vs. plan Clear communication to both 3PL & Customer service teams of requirements Forecasting longer-term storage and throughput requirements to support contract negotiations Management of capacity plan around key pinch points (Easter, Christmas, Stock takes etc.)
  • DIRECT-FROM-FACTORY DELIVERIES
  • Manage direct-from-factory deliveries to various locations, ensuring timely and accurate delivery Report on key KPIs such as Service Level & OTIF and root cause reasons for failures with recommendations to improve Work alongside HQ team to understand ways to improve utilisation of this route to market
  • PROCESS MANAGEMENT
  • Support the Order to Cash process, ensuring efficiency and accuracy in order handling and invoicing Work with customer service teams to ensure all customer orders are on the books as close to the requested delivery date as possible, but within our capacity limitations Seek out and lead continuous improvement opportunities & automation efficiencies Inventory management. Responsible for ensuring internal and 3PL systems are aligned and any discrepancies are investigated thoroughly in a timely manner with robust checks implemented to prevent them from reoccurring Support with core Month End tasks and review invoices and backing data to ensure we have a clear understanding of cost deviation in the operation
  • QUALITY MONITORING AND FIELD SAMPLES
  • Ensure all quality incidents are dealt with and aligned with our 3PL in a timely manner Collect and share field samples with HQ quality departments every month
  • DAY TO DAY SUPPORT & CONTINOUS IMPROVEMENT
  • Handle daily/weekly/monthly/annual logistics tasks Document key tasks (SOP’s) and provide suitable handovers when required Leverage and implement automation opportunities (EDI, RPA, and others) to deliver improved accuracy and/or time/cost savings Challenge and work with service providers to deliver incremental improvements in customer offering while seeking opportunities to reduce cost and complexity Critically assess the ways of working within the logistics team and actively lead continuous improvement changes including Cost to Serve initiatives with customers Support other members of the Logistics team with holiday cover to ensure the team is cross trained and able to support each other Participate and lead on-site stock takes at our 3PL at least once per year
