Requirements

  • - Design new product lines from initial concept through to manufacture, assembly and commissioning.
  • - Continual development of existing product lines, including updating technical drawings, incorporation of customer feedback, safety reviews and implementing improvements.
  • - Project management of prototype or non-standard machines, including liaising with supplies and manufacturers to ensure the product meets the customer's requirements.
  • - Design of bespoke machines and adaptation of existing products to meet varying customer requirements.
  • - Compiling technical information for sales literature and writing/updating the technical documentation.
  • - Answering queries and providing technical advice about the products to customers and sales staff.
  • - Working with Electrical Engineers to develop the electrical control systems of the machine, including some PLC programming.
  • Applicants should have a sound background in ‘machinery’ design and be conversant in the use of 3D CAD, preferably ‘Solid Edge’ or ‘Solidworks’. Experience in the field of hydraulic equipment, systems and transmissions is also highly desirable. New designs, development and a drive for continual improvement are important aspects of this new role so an innovative and enthusiastic approach is essential.
