Responsibilities

  • Lead and co-ordinate the site facilities team to ensure a high-level customer experience and the excellence of operations
  • Overall responsibility for EHS in operations in JNB including direction, strategic development, performance, and maintenance
  • Manage maintenance scheduling information, aligned to supply chain contracts, for both management and customers on an annual basis to allow for future planning by customers
  • Manage multiple one-time and/or ongoing projects
  • Ensure supplier performance is in line with company expectations and contracts
  • First contact for any Operational EHS Concerns
  • Participates in the strategic plan implementation, track metrics, provide leadership and training, meet day-to-day EHS responsibilities, and drive continuous improvement of the organizations EHS management system
  • Provides the leadership and direction to coordinate, develop, implement, and enforce EHS compliance with the legislative framework, company policies and procedures
  • Direct, manage and maintain contact with internal and external clients/customers
  • Developing strategic plans (KPIs) aligned with EHS department requirements for team activities to include health and safety strategy to achieve agreed targets, and effective planning
  • Investigate incidents and accidents to ensure the timely production of corrective and preventative action plans
  • Provide professional guidance to customers, management and the team in a prompt, courteous and professional manner
  • Support the PFM in ensure the site is a safe working environment that is suitable for employees and customers
  • Collaborate with the Director, EHS, EMEA to ensure standardization of policies and procedures, as applicable, across the South African footprint of locations
  • Conducting/delivering regulatory training programs to meet EHS requirements
  • Analyses safety metrics and communicates results to leadership to drive action and accountability
  • Present topical information/metrics on a regular basis to site leadership teams as well as the Director EHS EMEA, Senior EHS Director – EMEA, and the Senior Leadership team - EMEA
  • Being accountable for EHS performance metrics and implementation of annual improvement plans
  • Stand in for the PFM in their absence and act as a first point of contact for any Facilities related issues
  • Project management, managing and co-ordination of activities that are carried out by third parties
  • Ensure all personnel working on site or within the facility comply with Data Centre rules and all ISO accreditation guidelines
  • Ensure all mechanical and electrical infrastructure is maintain in line with OEM recommendations ensuring resilience is maintain and uptime targets are met
  • Co-ordinate the day-to-day maintenance and facilities activities to the Facilities Team
  • Facilitate site tours for potential and existing customers and/or visitors as required and perform EHS inspections and observations
  • Manage relationships between Vantage Operations and any customer activities on site
  • Ensure access, deliveries and collections are compliant with the Site Access processes and procedures
  • Plan and implement activities relating to the Site and Grounds maintenance
  • Support the PFM in site EH&S duties and site audits
  • Management of the site CMMS
  • Support the planning and implementation of activities relating to site Pre Planned Maintenance and remedial work
  • Maintain a close relationship with the Customer Experience Team to keep the client experience at the forefront
  • Ensure building is maintain at a high safety level
  • Conduct Safety audits on Contractors
  • Monthly safety walks with client and regular engagement with the Operations team on best safety practices
