Responsibilities

  • Develops overarching HR communications strategy and leads cohesive efforts to implement focused messaging and tools that educate team members on leveraging resources and benefits available to the; engaging in systemwide initiatives that promote diversity, equity and inclusion; and shaping a positive and productive workplace culture
  • Collaborates with the Human Resources leadership team, including the Chief People Officer, to identify priorities and program communication needs; consults with Human Resources leadership team to define communication plan target outcomes; develops and executes the annual HR communications plan
  • Directly manages and actively develops a team of individual contributors who serve as communications leads in the broadly defined areas of DE&I, total rewards, employee support, employee relations and events of employee impact, engagement and recognition, systemwide surveys and awards, leadership development with a strong emphasis on the Learning & Leadership Institute, talent acquisition and retention, and more
  • Directly manages or oversees vendors involved in supporting overarching strategy and initiative plans, as well as specific communications, events, reports, and creative needs
  • Applies strategic communications expertise to achieve engagement of target audiences and desired outcomes of communication activities; recommends methods to strengthen and evolve channels and tactics; creates and distributes content; integrates a measurement/assessment component for communication activities to evaluate success of initiatives and identify areas for continuous improvement
  • Advises on development and communication of employee experience and engagement initiatives, such as engagement survey communications, employee appreciation events, DE&I, and annual employee rankings and accolades
  • Manages HR, Engagement & DE&I-related budget expenditures and reporting
  • Develops internal and external communications, including speeches, talking points and quotes on behalf of senior executives
  • Collaborates closely with Marketing and events leads or outsourced partners/vendors to design powerful activations that enliven and celebrate key engagement and development concepts with strong alignment to relevant strategic initiatives and annual events
  • Proactively identifies potential connections and conflicts between systemwide changes and refines communications efforts accordingly
  • Facilitates two-way dialogue with team members and leaders, captures feedback and adjusts communications strategy as appropriate
  • Develops and follows action plans, timelines, approval processes and tracking procedures required to ensure efficient workflow and impact of communication projects
  • Leads HR communication strategy, planning and reporting; uses data to on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis to share results, refine strategy and influence outcomes
  • Maintains trusting, productive partnerships within the Communications team and across multiple departments including Human Resources, Learning & Leadership Institute, Strategy and clinical, regulatory, quality and legal functions
