  • Lifting and handling boxes of varying shapes, sizes and weights (up to 20kgs)
  • Manoeuvre cages of goods (up to 180kgs) safely through busy corridors from Stores area to ward or department.

  • Basic level experience of Microsoft Office applications including Word and Excel.
  • General standard of education including GCSE in English and Maths.
  • Diploma in Procurement & Supply (CIPS) or Advanced Certificate in Procurement and Supply Operations (CIPS)/NVQ3 in Business Administration, or similar plus in depth knowledge of Materials Management principles and process including stock control, ordering, invoicing and customer care skills to level 4 diploma equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Supervising a team of around 25 staff, consisting of Materials Management Assistants Materials & Materials & Equipment Operatives.
  • The teams provide a consumable replenishment service to select specialities, ensuring that the clinical staff have the consumables they need to provide a world class service.
  • Including the timely delivery of equipment and the consumables.
  • The role will be to provide direct support to the Materials Management team and Materials & Equipment team.
  • Whilst also being the first point of escalation for our customers.
  • Ensuring priorities are maintained and operational issues resolved in a timely manner.
  • The role will be best suited to someone who likes a fast paced environment, every day will have slightly different challenges.
  • Whilst these challenges often need support for resolution there and then, the longer term fix also needs to implemented/escalated.
