Responsibilities

  • Mechanical detail design: Optimize mechanical part and assembly design in concert with development and manufacturing partners. Review findings from development and qualification testing and work with internal and external engineering teams to analyze and execute solutions.
  • Mechanical CAD design: Generate 3D CAD design data to meet LRU requirements. Integrate 3D CAD design data (CREO 4.0) into the Thales archives (WindChill) and document control system (TeamCenter).
  • Check completed layouts and drawings to clarify completeness, conformity to standards, procedures, specifications, manufacturability, and accuracy of calculations and dimensions.
  • Release and update Bills of Material and technical drawings furnished by supplier to meet Quality Assurance conformity standards and to maintain production configuration control.
  • Conduct comprehensive design reviews with engineering team and manufacturing partners to confirm completion of engineering, cost and manufacturability requirements. Plan and execute mechanical design project tasks according to project / program schedules.
  • Support Customer Service configuration releases and Sustaining Engineering investigations. Manage drawing and BOM updates in collaboration with Thales Operations staff and manufacturing partners.
