What is the Middle Office Rotation program at State Street?
The Middle Office Rotation program is an entry-level opportunity that allows participants to rotate through three different business functions within the Global Delivery Middle Office (GDMO) area over the course of two years. This program provides exposure to various roles and helps participants develop both technical skills and commercial acumen.
What roles can I expect to experience during the rotation?
Participants can expect to gain experience in several distinct roles within the GDMO business area, including Portfolio Services (Front Office Support, Data Control, Middle Office Support, Client Management Support), Trade Management (Processing & Settlement), Account Services (Fund Transitions), and Fund Accounting.
What qualifications are required to apply for this role?
Applicants should possess a 2.1 degree in any subject (recent graduates) and ideally have 1-2 years of experience in a finance-related field. Additionally, candidates should have an analytical mindset, great communication skills, and be organized and flexible team players.
Are there any specific skills that would make my application stand out?
Strong Excel skills and an understanding of investment markets and their drivers are desirable skills that can enhance your application.
Will participants receive professional accreditation during the program?
Yes, participants will gain professional accreditation through the completion of the IMC (Investment Management Certificate) and IOC (Investment Operations Certificate) qualifications during their time in the program.
What kind of support will I provide during the rotation?
You will provide support in various areas such as administration, processing, research and analysis, and assistance with client queries. Daily activities may include supporting post-trade flows, being aware of market developments, overseeing middle office functions, and facilitating client communications.
