You must be due to qualify as a Registered Children's Nurse in 2024.
Is there a preceptorship program for new nurses?
Yes, we offer a 12-month children's nurse preceptorship program with bespoke training and support throughout the duration.
What areas will I rotate through during the training program?
You will rotate through Children's Emergency Department, Bluebell inpatient ward, children's day services, and children's community nursing.
Are there opportunities for professional development?

Can I express an interest in a specific area after the rotational program?
Yes, after completing the rotation program, you will have the opportunity to express your interest in your chosen area within acute services.

Yes, we welcome applicants from students who have been on placement with East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust as well as those who have not.
What hospitals are part of East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust?
The hospitals include The Lister Hospital in Stevenage, New Queen Elizabeth II in Welwyn Garden City, Hertford County in Hertford, and Mount Vernon Cancer Centre in Northwood.
