Responsibilities

  • To take responsibility for the co-ordination and monitoring of practice learning opportunities (placements) for students from a variety of educational settings within the Trust
  • To ensure the suitability and preparedness of placement areas in collaboration with the wider EMAS education team and external education providers
  • To develop, prepare and update EMAS Practice Educators to support learners/students whilst undertaking practice learning, by delivering the practice educator course and EMAS Student Inductions
  • To contribute to educational delivery in EMAS, with a focus on practice-based learning and clinical skills
  • To work with the placement team and wider clinical education team to ensure all placement data is captured and reported upon for compliance, associated funding and placement quality
  • Support the education team in delivering the Trust’s learning and development agenda in line with the agreed workforce plans, focusing on placement learning (placements)
  • Liaise with Practice Education Teams in external education providers (including Universities) to co-ordinate the provision of practice placement for learners on approved programmes, aligned to any contractual agreements
  • Liaise with EMAS Education Tutors to facilitate the provision of practice placement for learners on EMAS internal programmes
  • Ensure the professional suitability of learners/students by engaging with the corporate administrational team to ensure placement checks have been undertaken and are satisfactory
