What is the primary focus of the Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner role?
The primary focus is to provide psychological interventions for people with mild to moderate common mental health problems, such as anxiety disorders and depression.
What qualifications are required to apply for this position?
Applicants must have either a Postgraduate Certificate in Low Intensity CBT with IAPT PWP status or an MSci Applied Psychology (Clinical) qualification.
Where will the PWP be working geographically?
The PWP will be working within the Dorset Steps 2 Wellbeing Service across various locations in Dorset.
Is the role fixed term or permanent?
This is a fixed term role.
Will I need to undergo a background check for this position?
Yes, employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which will be covered by the Trust.
What types of support will the PWP provide?
The PWP will provide phone, online, or face-to-face support, conduct patient interviews, carry out risk assessments, and liaise with other agencies to signpost patients to various services.
Can I work from home as a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner?
Yes, the role allows for remote support, but it will be in a hybrid format.
What kind of therapies will be used in this role?
The role involves providing a range of cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) based self-management interventions.
