Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in entertainment publicity
  • Post-secondary education in communications, public relations, marketing, journalism, or related field
  • Solid experience within the PR/TV/Streaming/Entertainment/media industry with good TV/Streaming contacts including editors, critics and writers.
  • Ability to manage both traditional and digital publicity strategies to promote streaming content, from programming to brand and events, working closely with Comms Lead for Canada and PR Agency
  • Experience with talent management from facilitating photo-shoots to stunts and press junkets, to scheduling management, travel bookings, facilitating departmental requests and ensuring talent represent the brand
  • Experience working within a reactive and pro-active press office, handling incoming press enquiries and bringing up any crises led issues
  • Demonstrable understanding and experience of the social media landscape and platforms including TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook and X Vine, etc.
  • Good publicity skills – a strong understanding of the media landscape (traditional and digital), editorial requirements and what makes a story – a keen ‘nose for news’
  • Polished communications professional with excellent negotiator, presenter, influencer and relationship management skills
  • Strong organisational and time management skills with phenomenal attention to detail and ability to work to tight deadlines under pressure and on several projects simultaneously
  • Self starter / confidence in working with senior collaborators across the wider business and internationally, who is able to tackle any task
  • Ideas generation to help keep the team projects vibrant and encourage creativity and proactivity within the streaming PR team
  • Excellent writing ability – from press releases and corporate Q & A’s, coverage and event reports to Awards submissions.
  • Experience with presentation software and budgets a plus
  • Personable and adaptable teammate with a flexible mentality– some work required out of hours

Responsibilities

  • Liaise with U.S. based HQ publicity teams to ensure publicity opportunities are improved, as well as manage press releases and promotional assets including screeners.
  • Execution of publicity campaigns for priority new shows & events; developing and pitching news stories, features and talent interviews and press junkets for streaming content.
  • Combine creativity with knowledge of the media to recognise media angles and generate positive coverage across a broad media and influencer spectrum. Advise on press and influencer angles for streaming content and take part in PR Hub brainstorms and creative thinking process.
  • Nurture key relationships with influencers, digital outlets as well as traditional print, online and broadcast media
  • Monitor media platforms and moments in time to find opportunities.
  • Assist with the logistics, planning, and coordination of major events, ensuring smooth execution and successful outcomes while managing timelines, vendors, and key collaborators.
  • Careful handling of screeners and their distribution. Working closely with Legal to ensure all assets shared with third parties are cleared and aligned.
  • Build coverage reports post campaign.
  • Embrace the ‘One Paramount’ approach and encourage collaboration and team working across markets and lines of business.
  • Be an ambassador for Paramount+ and Pluto TV, internally and externally
  • Adopt and promote the Paramount values and support a culture of inclusion.
