Responsibilities

  • Job Responsibilities:
  • - Provide the first point of contact between patient and surgery
  • - Book new and return appointments by telephone or face to face as appropriate
  • - Record patient’s arrival for appointment
  • - Record requests for prescriptions
  • - Produce prescriptions in accordance with practice protocol
  • - Undertake electronic filing of correspondence in patient’s record
  • - Deal with queries from patients, health professionals and pharmacists with support from GPs as required
  • - Record requests for urgent appointments with the triage/duty Doctor in accordance with practice protocol
  • - Record requests for home visits with the triage/duty Doctor and prepare summaries for these
  • - Issue appropriate paperwork to patients wishing to register with the practice in accordance with practice protocol
  • - Photocopy documents and send faxes as required
  • - Log outgoing mail in accordance with practice protocol
  • - Provide admin support in relation to practice recall systems.
