Responsibilities

  • During the course of the programme we will support you to become a leader. You’ll spend your first 12 months learning how to manage one of our stores. Great leaders learn by doing, which is why you’ll gradually take on more responsibility before taking a management role within six months. You'll oversee a multi-million pound budget and get to grips with essentials like winning for our customers with a quick payment experience, clean, safe, well presented stores, creating an inclusive, engaging culture where everyone can be themselves and give customers the M&S experience they expect.
  • By the end of your first year, you’ll be comfortable running a store, but your programme won’t end there. We will continue to support you through the next stage of your career. That could be taking on bigger stores, completing a rotation in another area of the business, or eventually working abroad at one of our international businesses which will give you the breadth to become the best retail leader possible.
