  • Technology & Operations is the backbone for both the client lifecycle and the investment lifecycle. The group’s Follow the Sun Model ensures that the firm’s operations are consistent and efficient across all investment products, client channels and regions, helping to deliver a superior client experience and drive scalability. Technology & Operations is driven by a global network of operating centers of excellence (called iHubs), which centralize knowledge and equip support teams with the data and timely information needed to innovate and deliver on behalf of internal partners and clients.
  • Within the Risk & Control team, which is part of the broader Technology & Operations COO team, you will be a part of BlackRock’s first line of defense against threats and potential issues. Our team is primarily responsible to help identify risks, coordinate remediation efforts, report on risk trends/indicators, and improve Technology & Operations control environment. We do this in partnership with internal stakeholders and our partner teams in Risk & Quantitative Analysis, Legal & Compliance, Financial Controls and Internal Audit.


  • 1-3 years of experience in risk management, IT audit, information security or related fields – financial services industry experience preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and familiar with optimization and analytics tools.
  • Strong documentation and process-oriented background with leading and managing projects.
  • Excellent analytical skills for identifying risks, summarizing issues, and explaining trends.
  • Ability to drive progress through effective communication of complex topics to diverse audiences, orally and in writing.
  • Skilled or eager to learn SQL, Python and/or Perl for advanced data analysis.
  • Proactive self-starter, ability to learn quickly and to take the initiative with a desire to challenge the status quo, curiosity ask challenging questions and drive operational excellence.
  • Strong time management and prioritisation skills, work & maintain composure under pressure, ability to multi-task with strong attention to detail, and apply methodical approach to resolve issues.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
